How to check UPSC CAPF 2022 result?

The ‘Union Public Service Commission’ holds the Central Armed (Assistant Commandant) Police Force (CAPF) exam, also known as ACs exams every year. UPSC has held the examinations for the same, in the year of 2022. The commission released notifications for UPSC CAPF 2022 on 20th April, for the post of Assistant Commandant.

The results of the exams held in August are to be declared in the month of October. Once the CAPF exam is done and the results are declared, the candidates will be eligible to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test as a next stage of selection.

What is UPSC CAPF?

Central Armed Police Force is the distinction of seven security forces in India, such as Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) etc. These security forces are under the direct control of the Ministry of Home Affairs in India. The recruitment for these forces are done in three stages:

  1. Candidates for CAPFs are recruited through the means of CAPF (AC) examinations which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
  2. After clearing the written examination, the candidates need to go through a medical test or physical examination.
  3. After getting the clearance of the previous two examinations, the candidates reach the final stage of selection. In the final stage, an interview round is conducted to evaluate the personality of the candidate and if it deems to be fit for the service, the candidate is selected for the services.

Namely five services falls under the recruitment post of Assistant Commandant of CAPF and they are:

  1. Border Security Force (BSF)
  2. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  3. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  4. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

Eligibility Criteria to appear for UPSC CAPF 2022

There are numerous criteria that need to be fulfilled in order to appear for the Central Armed Police Forces examination for the post of Assistant Commandant. The criteria are as follows:

Nationality: Only people having the citizenship of India are eligible to appear for the examination. The only exception for this rule is for the subjects of Nepal and Bhutan.

Educational Qualifications: The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from university that is recognized by the Central or State Government.


If the candidates appearing for the examination are undergoing their final year or are not provided with the degree yet, will only get a provisional admission and will be required to submit the proof of obtaining the passing certificate of graduation once they qualify the UPSC CAPF 2022 examination.

Gender: Both male and females can appear for the examination.

Age Limit: The candidate applying shall be of a minimum 20 years age and shall not be older than 25 years of age, as of the first day of the examination month. An extension of maximum 5 years can be granted in the age limit for candidates belonging from SC/ST background. For OBC candidates the relaxation of age limit can be up to a tenure of 3 years.

The candidates must carry their respective Admit Cards while appearing for the UPSC CAPF 2022 examination. The Admit Cards are released in a month prior to the examination, and the same can be availed from the official website of UPSC.

The examination for the year of 2022 is set to be held on 7th of August and the results of the same are expected to be declared in 3-4 weeks of the commencement of the said examination.

Steps to check the UPSC CAPF 2022 results:

To download the UPSC CAPF 2022 results, follow the below mentioned steps.

Step 1 – The candidate needs to go to the official website of UPSC i.e.,

Step 2 – On the homepage of UPSC’s website, find the ‘What’s New’ section.

Step 3 – To proceed with the UPSC CAPF result downloading procedure, after finding the section, search for ‘Written Result: Central Armed Police Forces (AC) Examination, 2022’ link and click on it.

Step 4 – The link will redirect the candidate to a page where a table can be found.

Step 5 – In the table, below the document column, find a PDF link and click on it.

Step 6 – The link will initiate the downloading of PDF containing the UPSC CAPF results. Once the download is over, open the PDF to check the result.

Step 7 – In the aforementioned PDF, qualified candidates will be able to find their respective Admit Card roll numbers enlisted in the result section of the PDF.

Once a candidate has successfully qualified the written exam, they become eligible to appear for the Physical Test. For the succeeding test, candidates are required to fill up a form that can also be found on the UPSC’s official website.
